Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about TemplaKit's safety program templates.
PRODUCT & COMPLIANCE
Will these templates help my workplace meet OSHA requirements?
No template is OSHA-compliant on its own — compliance is achieved by your organization, not by a document. What TemplaKit provides is a professionally structured framework built around the program elements OSHA requires, referencing the applicable CFR standards for your industry. You supply the site-specific information — your equipment, your hazards, your personnel, your procedures. That content, combined with actually implementing what the program describes, is what creates compliance. TemplaKit gives you the right structure so you're starting from the correct foundation instead of a blank page.
Are these written by actual safety professionals?
Yes. TemplaKit templates are structured around widely recognized industry best practices and the regulatory frameworks OSHA establishes for each industry. They're built to include the program elements and required components OSHA expects to see — so when you fill in your site-specific information, you're working within the right structure from the start.
What's the difference between a Written Safety Program and a KPI Dashboard?
Written Safety Programs are the documented policies and procedures your workplace is required to maintain — things like a Hazard Communication Program, Emergency Action Plan, or Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Plan. KPI Dashboards are Excel-based tools that help you track and report safety performance data like injury rates, near-misses, and training completion. Many customers use both together.
PURCHASING & DELIVERY
How do I receive my templates after purchase?
Immediately. As soon as your payment is processed, you'll receive an email with a download link. There's no waiting period, no shipping, and no account required.
What file formats do the templates come in?
Written Safety Programs come as Microsoft Word (.docx) files so you can open, edit, and customize them right away. KPI Dashboards are Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) files with pre-built formulas and charts. Both formats work on PC and Mac.
Is there a subscription or recurring fee?
No. Every purchase is a one-time payment. You own the template outright and can use it indefinitely. There are no renewal fees, no membership required, and no license that expires.
Do you offer refunds?
Because our products are digital downloads, all sales are final once the file has been delivered. If you have a problem with your purchase — a file that won't open, a download that didn't arrive — contact us and we'll make it right.
USAGE
Can I customize the templates for my workplace?
Absolutely — that's the whole point. Every template is designed to be edited. You add your company name, location, specific equipment, names of responsible personnel, and any site-specific procedures. The structure and regulatory language is already done; you fill in the details that are unique to your operation.
Can I use one template across multiple job sites or locations?
Yes. A single purchase covers use across your organization. You can customize separate copies for different locations, divisions, or crews as needed.
Can I share the templates with my team?
Yes. You can share the downloaded file internally with employees, supervisors, HR, or your safety committee. The templates are not licensed for resale or redistribution to other companies.
INDUSTRIES & FIT
What industries do you cover?
Construction, General Industry, Healthcare & Dental, Landscaping & Grounds, Hospitality & Food Service, and Childcare & Education. If you don't see your industry listed, contact us — we may already have what you need.
What if my industry isn't listed?
Reach out via our Contact page. We're expanding our catalog regularly and may already have templates that apply to your work. Many of our General Industry programs also cross over to warehousing, logistics, and light manufacturing.
I'm new to safety documentation — will these work for me?
Yes. Each template includes guidance notes explaining what information goes where, so you don't need a safety background to complete them. If you're building your first safety program, TemplaKit gives you a professionally structured starting point that would otherwise take weeks to create from scratch.
